The Job
The call was for new gutters. The old ones were broken, sagging, and past saving, so the plan was simple: pull the old system off and hang brand-new 6-inch white K-style seamless around the house. You can see the new runs coming off the machine right in the street in the gallery, formed to the length of each roofline.
Then the old gutters came down and the plan got bigger, because behind them was particle board. Not solid lumber, particle board, holding up the gutters on a full-size two-story house with a pool in the backyard. Particle board swells and crumbles the moment water finds it, and gutter fascia is the one board on the house guaranteed to meet water. It explains a lot about why the old gutters were failing.
All New Fascia: 1x6 Treated Pine, Wrapped in Aluminum
This is the part of the job you cannot see from the ground and the part that decides how long the new gutters last. We stripped the particle board off and replaced all the fascia with new 1x6 treated pine, real lumber, rated for the weather, solid enough to hold a screw for decades. Then we wrapped everything in aluminum coil, bent on-site to fit each run, so no wood is left exposed anywhere on the house.
The before and after photos tell it: bare, tired edges at the start, and a crisp white wrapped line at the end. It is the same fix we made on a Marlboro install a couple of weeks back, scaled up to the whole house. If your gutters are sagging and you are not sure why, the fascia behind them is usually the answer.
Then the Gutters: 6-Inch White K-Style
With solid wood behind them, the new gutters went up: 6-inch white K-style seamless with clean drops at the corners, tucked neatly over the scalloped awning at the pool-side corner and run tight along the patio slider in back. The oversized trough gives this roof real capacity in a downpour, and every fastener is biting into treated pine instead of compressed sawdust.
Everything is solid, protected, and looking clean. This one came out awesome, and more importantly, it is built to stay that way.
