The Job
Guards only work if the system under them starts clean, so that is where every guard job begins. We cleaned these gutters out end to end, removed all the debris, and flushed the downspouts so water had a clear path before anything got covered.
Then the RX aluminum guards went on: rigid perforated panels fastened along the full run, tucked under the shingle edge and screwed down tight. You can see the finished edge in the photos, a clean line of aluminum that lets water through and keeps everything else out.
Why RX Aluminum Guards
There are a lot of gutter guard products out there, from foam inserts to plastic snap-ins, and most of the cheap ones cause more problems than they solve. Rigid aluminum panels are the ones we stand behind: they don't sag into the trough, they don't crumble in the sun, and the perforations take in heavy rain while screening out leaves, twigs, and shingle grit.
Fastened properly, they also stand up to the wind, which matters on the bayshore. Here's our honest breakdown on whether guards are worth it for your situation, because the answer genuinely depends on your roof and your trees.
What Guards Actually Buy You
Guards don't make gutters magically maintenance-free, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something. What they do is change the job from digging out packed, rotting debris twice a year to an occasional rinse of the surface. The downspouts stay open, the water keeps moving, and the fascia behind the gutter stays dry.
For homes under trees, that's the difference between gutters you manage and gutters you forget about. And forgetting the right way is a lot cheaper than what clogs cost.

About Port Monmouth
Port Monmouth is a bayshore section of Middletown Township, right along Sandy Hook Bay in Monmouth County. Between the mature trees in the yards and the wind coming off the water, gutters here collect debris fast and get tested hard when coastal storms roll up the bay.
That combination is exactly where gutter guards earn their keep: less climbing, fewer clogs, and downspouts that stay open through the fall drop. If you're in Port Monmouth, Middletown, or anywhere along the bayshore and tired of cleaning gutters on repeat, give us a call or text and we'll size up whether guards make sense for your roof.
