The Job
Bradley Beach lots are tight and the buildings come in threes: the house, the garage, and the shed out back. When the roofs go, they usually go together, because they went on together. This one got the full treatment, a complete tear-off across all three structures, down to the deck, with the crews harnessed up and the tarps down over the patios and fences of some very close neighbors.
The first clip is the bundles going up: GAF Timberline HDZ in Pewter Gray, hauled onto a deck already dried-in with GAF Deck-Armor synthetic underlayment. The second clip is the nail-off, Pewter Gray going down course by course. Same GAF system we run on every roof, from Millstone to the shore.
Why Pewter Gray Works at the Shore
Pewter Gray is a clean, silvery gray that reads crisp against white siding and the bright shore light, and matching it across the house, garage, and shed is what makes the property feel finished instead of patched. Three structures, one roofline story. You can see it in the photos: the main house ridge, the garage, and the shed all wearing the same color, and the whole lot looks new.
This is our fourth project in Bradley Beach on the blog, after a full tear-off with a framing rebuild and a classic bungalow gutter install. We love this town and it keeps calling us back.
Gutters and Guards to Finish It
A new roof sheds water faster than an old one, so the drainage got upgraded to match: the old broken gutters came off and new white 5-inch K-style seamless went up with 2x3 downspouts, sized right for these compact shore rooflines. Then we capped the system with RX aluminum gutter guards, the rigid perforated panels that keep leaves out and let a downpour through.
That last part matters here, because shore blocks like this have mature trees hanging right over the roofs. With the guards on, the new gutters start their life protected, and the homeowner is not climbing a ladder every fall. Everything came together great: new roof, new gutters, new guards, fresh look, one crew.

About Working in Bradley Beach
Bradley Beach is one of those classic Monmouth County shore boroughs where the housing stock has real age and character, bungalows and cottages that have been standing up to salt air for generations. That exposure is exactly why exterior trim work matters more here than inland. Wood fascia and soffit near the ocean takes a constant beating from moisture and wind-driven rain.
