- Gus Gutterson, the Gutter Bandits raccoon, is now a playable character in Loop Chomp, a free one-tap browser arcade game made in Central New Jersey.
- Loop Chomp grew from zero to 125,000 plays a week in 12 weeks, and Gutter Bandits is its first sponsor.
- The free pack includes Gus, the Bandit Sunset arena, and a Gutter Gunk snack set of leaves, acorns, pinecones, and a lost tennis ball.
What Loop Chomp Is
Loop Chomp is a free arcade game you play in your browser: one tap, no download, no signup. You loop around a ring, chomp what comes at you, and see how high you can climb on the daily leaderboard. It is easy to pick up and hard to put down.
And people have noticed. Loop Chomp went from zero plays a week to 125,000 plays this week, in just 12 weeks. A homegrown New Jersey game catching on that fast is exactly the kind of thing we wanted to be part of.
What's in the Gutter Bandits Pack
Gus, the chomper. The same Gus you see on our trucks: a raccoon in a gray GB hat with a bandit mask, a red bandana, and a ringed tail that sways while you play.
Bandit Sunset, the arena. A sunset over a row of rooftops, with a gutter and downspout on every roof and autumn leaves blowing across the screen. Our kind of view.
Gutter Gunk, the snack set. Everything we pull out of gutters all fall, turned into snacks: maple leaves, acorns, pinecones, rain drops, a lost tennis ball, and a golden acorn if you are lucky. Anyone who has ever cleaned a gutter will recognize the menu.
How to Play as Gus
Head to Loop Chomp, open the Store, and go to Packs. The Gutter Bandits pack sits right up front and it is free: one tap claims it and puts it on. It is purely cosmetic, so Gus plays exactly like every other chomper. Right now the pack is in the browser version, with the app versions coming in a later update.
You can read the game's side of the story on the Loop Chomp partnership page. Then come back and tell us your high score.
