The Job
Homes like this one shed a lot of water. Two full stories, a deep roof, a side wing and a dormer all feeding down to the same ground. When the gutters on a house this size are undersized or worn out, you feel it the first hard storm, with sheets of water coming off the edges and pounding the beds and the foundation below.
We put new seamless black K-style aluminum across the whole home and tied the downspouts in to carry that volume down and away. Black to match the shutters and the roofline, so the gutters read as part of the architecture instead of an afterthought.
Black on Brick
Brick is busy. There's a lot of color and texture in a wall like this, and a thin white gutter line tends to fight it. Black settles the whole thing down. It draws one calm line under the roof and lets the downspouts run the brick-to-siding corners without drawing your eye.
From the curb the front just looks sharper and more finished, and that's before you get to the part that actually matters, which is whether the thing works in a downpour.
