The Job
This is a classic Middlesex County two-story, white siding with burgundy shutters and a barn-red garage door. A roof this size sheds a lot of water, and the gutters it had weren't keeping up. We took the whole system off and replaced it with new 6-inch Scotch Red seamless K-style aluminum and matching downspouts.
Scotch Red was the right call for this house. Instead of a plain white line, the deep red ties straight into the barn-red garage door and the burgundy shutters, so the gutters read like they were part of the plan instead of sitting on top of it.
Why 6-Inch on a Roof Like This
Most homes do fine on a 5-inch system, but a big two-story roof is exactly where stepping up to 6-inch earns its money. The wider trough holds more water and the larger downspouts move a lot more of it, so heavy summer storms don't blow right over the front edge. On a home that backs up to other houses with shared drainage, getting that water collected and routed properly keeps it off the foundation and out of the neighbor's yard too.
Colored and Formed On-Site
A color like Scotch Red comes off the same machine our standard runs do. We bring the coil and the roll-former to the curb and shape each length to the exact run it's going on, so even in a color, the gutter is one continuous seamless piece with the only joints at the corners and outlets.
Hidden hangers fastened into solid wood, downspouts offset clean around the foundation and strapped tight. Same install standard as every job, now in a color that suits the house.
